November 15th was the day selected to discuss Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass by Frederick Douglass. The discussion was lead by Lorraine.
The food was a highlight as usual. We had salad, creamy soup, Marci brought her sourdough bread (very good). There was a pumpkin dessert, Peggy Ann brought a sugar free dessert, I brought roasted butternut squash.
We missed a couple members due to sickness and one being out of town. We will have to make sure that the night we pick doesn't land on the day she is out of town.
For the movie we watched part of a documentary about Frederick Douglass and then watched a movie called Escape from Germany. It didn't have to do with the book but it was good. It was about how the missionaries serving in Germany were directed by church leaders to get out of Germany before armies invaded. I liked it and would like to read the book (Mine Angels Round About) that is suppose to have more details.
